Home visits include a debrief of the birth, mother and newborn vital signs, mental health check in and assistance with breastfeeding if required. Midwives will discuss recommended blood testing for mom and baby. If parents would like to do the recommended testing, the midwife will collect the blood during the visit. At each visit we go over what to expect until the next visit. Baby will be weighed on the day five visit or as needed,
The 2 week clinic visit will include vital signs, weighing the baby, checking in with mom including bleeding and mental wellness. We will answer any questions and offer support for breastfeeding if needed.
The six week visit is the final check for mom and baby. During this visit we will weigh the baby, do a full exam including measuring length and head circumference. Postpartum depression screen is completed and birth control options are discussed. At competition of this visit. We will send a letter to your family doctor that provides all the information collected. Follow-up care will be completed by your family doctor after this visit.
